David is a communications coach who works with individuals and groups to help them communicate with authenticity and impact. For more than thirty years, he has honed this expertise through his work as a filmmaker, working closely with documentary contributors, presenters and actors to shape clear, compelling stories. David began his career at BBC Newsnight and has since written and directed more than forty documentaries, drama-documentaries and dramas for leading UK and US broadcasters. His work spans politics, art and global culture, including Blair and Brown: The New Labour Revolution, The Power of Art with Sir Simon Schama, and The Amish. He also co-wrote the original story and produced the award-winning feature film Shooting Dogs, starring Sir John Hurt. His book When the Hills Ask for Your Blood was named Book of the Week by both The Independent and The New Statesman. “Moving from filmmaking to coaching has felt very natural because, like a film, it always starts with a story,” says David. “I work with clients to hone their narrative and how they tell it, so they feel excited to stand up and communicate it to others.” At AGL, David brings this storyteller’s approach to leadership communication, helping clients find clarity, confidence and impact in the way they communicate.
